about usHope is Here
The good news for 2012 is HOPE IS HERE! Eph 1:18–19 (TNIV) “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe.”
The Apostle Paul prays for us that our eyes would be opened to 3 spiritual realities.
§ The hope to which He has called you.
§ The riches of His inheritance in you.
§ The greatness of His power toward us.
The word hope in the Bible does not mean “hope so,” like a child hoping for a doll or a bike at Christmas. The word carries with it “assurance for the future.” For you to live in “the hope to which He has called you”, you need to know:
§ God is the source of our hope. Rom 15:13 (NLT) “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
§ God’s hope is purposeful. Jer 29:11 (TNIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
§ God’s hope is alive. It is a living hope. 1 Pet 1:3 (ESV) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…”
§ Jesus is our Saviour & Our Hope. 1 Tim 1:1 (ESV) “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our Saviour and of Christ Jesus our hope.” This word means “a royal commission.” Jesus Christ is not only Lord, but He is our “Saviour,” and to anyone facing discouragement He is “our hope!”
May you step forward in this exciting year, having full confidence that God’s hope is here for you.
God bless,
